Three-Part Series
The Intro: Using definitions, musical examples, and demonstrations, we will begin to hone our skills to lay a proper foundation that will enable us to build our confidence to play piano in a worship band.

The Bridge: Building on our properly laid foundation from Session 1, we will review, then expand our skills to reading lead sheets to create the necessary framework to further enhance our ability to play piano in a worship band.
The Coda: As we wrap up all that we have learned, we will put finishing touches on our lead sheet reading and begin to explore chord charts to further complete our goal of playing piano in a worship band with confidence.

Clinician: Wyndy South, Contract Keyboard Consultant, Church Music Department Mississippi Baptist Convention Board
Since March 16, 2001, Wyndy South has been the Contract Keyboard Consultant in the Church Music Department of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board. She is responsible for resourcing and providing training and leadership for accompanists in Southern Baptist Churches throughout the state of Mississippi. As consultant, she is also the Area Keyboard Festivals Coordinator for the 11 statewide festivals. Since 2010, Wyndy has also been the preschool and children’s music consultant where she is the choir coordinator for the Mississippi Baptist Young Musicians Honor Choir, which began in 2011.
Wyndy has served as accompanist or clinician for many festivals, camps, conferences, workshops and other events throughout Mississippi, as well as Louisiana, Alabama and Tennessee, since coming to the Church Music Department. She currently serves as the pianist for the Mississippi Baptist Singing Churchwomen.
Since October 4, 2009, Wyndy has served as the worship pianist/music associate for First Baptist Church, Florence, MS where she accompanies the Celebration Adult Choir, the Redeemed Senior Adult Choir and the FBC Worship Band and praise team in worship each week. Prior to coming to the Board, Wyndy was a private piano and voice instructor who traveled to student’s homes throughout the central portion of Mississippi for 22 years. Wyndy makes her home in Pearl.
